Day 81: Don't Forget to Breathe
Life can be stressful.
Its like that for everyone. Not everything in life will be a bed of roses. Happiness is not permanent, sadness is not permanent.
But in between and during both of these phases of life you can have something which will keep you going: peace of mind.
Peace of mind is something everyone in the world needs in order to withstand the many ups and downs in life and feel somewhat at ease when the going gets tough.
Its a form of stability that is irreplaceable. Once you have peace of mind you can learn to adapt to different situations and at the very least not fall into a state of panic when a new and unfamiliar situation arises.
Peace of mind is important to me as an individual. I like to have an easy going life and have an easy going lifestyle. I don't like to make a fuss over small and trivial things. I understand that others have different ways of doing things than I do. I may very well prefer my way of doing things but that's because I'm used to doing them like that. It doesn't make the other person wrong for them doing something their way.
When we learn to accept others and have respect for their space, well being, mental health and who they are as people we will be a step closer to having peace of mind at least when it comes to dealing with others or being around others.
Nothing in life is permanent. We are here today and gone tomorrow. Literally.
I will happily do anything to retain my peace of mind as its what has keep me going all these years. I don't like to bother people and I don't like people to bother me. I don't think that this is something unreasonable. I just call it mutual respect.
But I find that unfortunately in this world there are people who love toxicity and peace is not something that appeals to them as they don't find it entertaining enough maybe. They love conflict and will do anything to provoke a situation so that drama is created and personalities flare up and clash.
I'll be honest with you I don't have time in my life for this kind of nonsense. It doesn't make any sense to me and it is emotionally, mentally and even physically taxing.
These kind of people (if you let them) will throw you off course from your goals and fulfilling your daily targets that help you to get closer to achieving your goals. These kind of people have low ambition and cannot see past their own short sighted and very limited views and perspectives. They have no respect for others and the hard work that they do in order to become better versions of themselves.
These kind of people want you to stay stagnant at their level of basic and unfulfilled. It is not your responsibility to fix these kind of people. We only have a responsibility to ourselves and making sure that we stick to our goals. As a result we must and should aim to keep our peace of mind contrary to what these toxic individuals aim to do in order to throw us off balance.
We owe that much to ourselves.
Find your space and take deep breaths, calm your heart with beautiful words and inspirational speech to give you strength and give you your focus again and help you to recenter yourself. Don't lose sight of your goals. Don't lose sight of the calm that exists inside of you. Let the waves settle and be calm.
Reconnect with nature, it has a very calming and grounding effect.
